Virtual WAN

SD-WAN is not designed to carry or route data. Its main responsibility is to maintain the configuration and management of WAN points. Enterprises will enjoy many benefits of SD-WAN when deploying SD-WAN, such as higher connection efficiency than MPLS, more flexibility in deploying new services remotely, better redundancy, and all without increasing costs.

Traditional WANs typically use a point-to-point MPLS connection to connect remote offices to the headquarters. The SD-WAN deployment method provides software coverage for existing WANs and provides centralized management and configuration functions.

SD-WAN can use a variety of transmission methods, with great flexibility, you can configure remote endpoints, such as MPLS, broadband Ethernet, 3G/4G cellular. This flexibility of transmission makes connecting branches easier and is not limited by physical location or any carrier.

SD-WAN also makes it easier to connect multiple transmissions over a wide area network for redundancy. If the primary transmission path fails, all communications can be automatically moved to other paths to support continuous connections. The second path is active during load balancing and can also be in a sleep state as a backup waiting for the primary failure.

Manage transmission costs more efficiently

With path control, the administrator can determine which traffic will be processed by which transfer. For example, high-priority application traffic can be routed through MPLS for the best quality connections. For low-priority network traffic, it can be transmitted over a broadband Internet for the most cost-effective processing. By controlling the path, administrators can manage overall transportation costs more efficiently.
