SD-WAN 2.0 and cloud-based solutions must include multi-domain strategies to provide coordinated service creation and basic operations and configuration management capabilities. Traditional network management concepts rely on isolated policies, and each domain has its own organizational and technical solutions. Given that modern services are distributed in complex network environments, network automation strategies need to focus on integrating these domains under a comprehensive end-to-end network automation platform.

Applications and services are increasingly distributed and require enhanced connectivity across multiple domains and across domains. Whether it's zero-trust security, intelligent network automation or any modern network strategy, the management of these network concepts requires us to rethink how we used to manage traditional networks.

Historical silos manufactured by manufacturers or network segments are being replaced by domain controllers and solutions. While taking a step forward, we need to resist a similar strategy that allows domain verticalization and regresses back to the past 20 years to limit innovation. We need an end-to-end strategy that focuses on the platform and connects all components into a programmable network, with a focus on change rates, rather than the aversion to today's strategy.
